Common questions — Gaffer jobs
What's the typical gaffer crew size on tri-state shoots?
Commercial and branded content most often run a gaffer plus 1–2 best electrics. Indie features scale up. CrewFeed lists each role separately, so you can apply directly to the gaffer call without coordinating the rest of the electric package.
Are gaffer listings paired with truck/package asks?
Some are. Listings that require a lighting package note it explicitly. Most NYC gaffer calls assume the production rents the package separately and hires the gaffer as labor only.
How often does new gaffer work post in the tri-state?
Less often than PA or camera-department calls, and volume rises and falls with commercial production seasons. Save the role + tri-state filter and turn on email alerts to surface new posts as they go live.
